While some see massages as a small luxury to treat oneself to in times of stress, others have embraced the practice as an unmovable part of their routines. No matter where you will find yourself on this spectrum after having experienced your first massage, we encourage you to welcome the many benefits of massage therapy and experience your first one without worry.
Before

Choosing the Right Massage
Although all our massages are personalized to your needs, they do offer different experience. Are you looking for a moment of relaxation? Is there a knot in your back that has been bothering you? Have you been spending more time sitting at your desk lately? We invite you to review our massage page and choose the massage you believe fits your needs. From there, you can make a reservation online or by phone. If you’re still unsure about which massage is right for you, feel free to use the chat option or call our Contact Centre, our agents will be happy to give you recommendations.
Before Leaving the House

Hydrating
Make sure you drink plenty of water or herbal tea before your massage. Staying hydrated is always important. It is especially so before a massage when hydration aids in the elimination of toxins which are released into the body’s circulation during treatment.
Tip: Stay away from stimulants like coffee, regular tea or alcohol before a massage.
Grabbing a Snack
Although it will not bother your therapist at all, it can be quite distracting to hear your own stomach rumble or digest during your massage. Therefore, eating light, at least an hour before your treatment is recommended. In a pinch, fruits or other easy-to-digest snacks are a great last-minute option.
Taking a Hot Shower
Feeling fresh and clean before a massage will help you fully relax into the experience. The hot water will loosen your muscles before the massage even begins and will keep the tensions at bay when you shower again after the massage to remove any excess oil.
Choosing the Right Clothes
Your outfit may not be your priority when getting a massage. However, putting restrictive clothes back on after a treatment is no fun. Opt for comfortable clothes (and shoes) to prolong the feeling of relaxation.
Arriving on Time

Whether you’ve reserved the thermal experience as well or not, on the day of your massage, you must head to the relaxation lounge 15 minutes before your appointment. During that time, you may sign in, fill out your health questionnaire and enjoy a cup of tea. If you have opted to enjoy the thermal experience as well, you may do so before as well as after your massage.
Personalizing Your Experience

To enhance your experience, you can personalize your massage by choosing between three essential oils and opting for either silence or ambient background music. Sweet orange, eucalyptus, or lavender: each carries its own properties that contribute to your overall wellbeing during the massage.

Sweet orange: soothing, astringent, vivifying, restores the skin’s brightness

Eucalyptus: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, alleviates rheumatism and muscle injuries, improves respiratory condition

Lavender: calming, soothing, improves sleep, reduces anxiety and stress
An arrival and departure ritual will also set the tone for your massage and features our signature essential oil blend.
Heading to the Massage Room

Your massage therapist will come find you in the relaxation room and guide you to your treatment room. Once inside, you will be immersed in a calming atmosphere. Enjoy soft background music, subdued lighting, the warmth in the air, and the scent of the essential oil you have chosen. Everything will be in place to allow you to experience a moment of pure bliss. Make yourself at home and let yourself go completely.
During

Disrobing
Although we recommend removing your clothes to enjoy your massage, we respect the choice of our guests who prefer to keep their undergarments on. Remember, you will be covered at all times by a sheet for your comfort and privacy. Only the part of your body to be massaged will be uncovered.
Speaking With Your Massage Therapist

To draw the maximum benefit from your massage, we recommend you speak with your massage therapist throughout the experience. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, identify your pain, express your specific needs, and ask them to adjust the pressure they are applying if needed. By regularly expressing your needs, your expectations will be better understood by the professional.
Breathing

During your massage, leave all your worries behind. Focus on your breathing and take deep, long breaths. There is nothing left for you to do now but relax.
