Our rituals are carefully crafted wellness experiences gathered from all over the globe, starting in our very own Canadian boreal forest, passing through faraway lands, and making many stops along the way.

Embracing the Aufguss Ritual
Famous for its elegance, intensity and benefits, the Aufguss ritual will endear you to sweat culture. Based on an ancient Germanic practice, this sauna custom uses water enriched with natural oils to heighten the effects of traditional vaporization techniques.
In our village, true to our Canadian roots, we use snowballs infused with essential oils that melt away onto hot sauna stones, filling the air with enriched steam. Using entrancing towel-waving choreographed movements, Rituals Artisans create a gentle breeze and fill every inch of the sauna with benefits. Every Aufguss ritual is as unique as it is hypnotic. Scents, sounds, atmosphere, spirit, length, and flow, it is all up to the artist’s interpretation. Take in the heat, the beauty and the story before you.

Aufguss
As expertly as Rituals Artisans wave towels, they masterfully weave seasonal tales. Find yourself amongst the pages of a storybook as you embark on an ever-changing aromatherapeutic journey. As the seasons change, so does the Aufguss. This ritual is steeped in essential oil and punctuated by light, sound, and movement. As the story unfolds in three rounds and enriched snowballs melt away on the hot stones, feel your senses awaken.
Discovery Aufguss
Step into your introduction to the wonders of sweat culture. The shortest of the village’s rituals, the Discovery Aufguss is perfect for the uninitiated. Allow Rituals Artisans to guide you through two rounds of this unique experience. Behold captivating, choreographed demonstrations of towel-waving techniques and meditate as snowballs enriched with essential oils melt onto hot stones. Your journey begins in the Loggä sauna.
Meditative Aufguss
From the moment the first essential oil-infused snowball touches the sizzling stones of the sauna, you are spellbound. The Meditative Aufguss is at the junction of traditional and exceptional. Silent, it invites you to enter a meditative state. As the snow melts and the air becomes saturated with carefully chosen essence, find peace in the rising heat of the event sauna. For three rounds, you will find yourself entranced by the dancing towels and creativity of Rituals Artisans.
Arboreal Aufguss
Finding inspiration in the Canadian boreal forest, the Arboreal Aufguss is a love letter to nature. Enveloped in the heat, lights and song of the sauna, you are invited to feel the intensity of this ritual. Hot to cold, and cold to hot, inspired by our changing seasons. Allow tree whisks dipped in cold water by our Rituals Artisans to shower you with relief. Become one with nature, a fervent believer in sweat culture.

No, the Aufguss Ritual is complimentary with the Thermal Experience. The schedule for the rituals available for the day is posted outside the Loggä event sauna.
The schedule is posted outside the Loggä sauna every day. Our artisans will be happy to assist you should you have any questions.
No, you do not need to book the Aufguss Ritual. Simply consult the schedule and head towards the sauna when you hear the gong to secure your place. We recommend waiting outside the sauna so as not to get overheated during the ritual.
Loggä, our event sauna, is the largest in North America with a capacity of 90 guests.
We invite you to complete the thermal cycle. Submerge yourself in cold water for 10 to 15 seconds and rest for a minimum of 20 minutes to enjoy all the benefits of thermotherapy after your ritual.
Your bathing suit! We ask you to leave your sandals, along with water bottles and personal items, outside the sauna and simply sit on your towel in your swimsuit.
The only item you should bring inside the sauna is your towel to sit on. Your sandals, personal items (such as glasses and cellphones), robe and water bottles must be left outside the sauna during the ritual.
Yes, if you have reached your limit, we recommend you leave the sauna and cool down. However, if the temperature is too intense in the sauna, you can sit on a lower level as it is less warm. The higher you sit, the warmer it will feel.
Do note that once you leave the sauna during a ritual, you may not re-enter.
