What does your dream day in the spa village look like? First, the sauna, maybe you gravitate towards the pink haze of the Hälo sauna, or maybe you head straight to Loggä for an Aufguss ritual. Then, it’s time for the cold plunge: are you more cold water bucket or waterfall? As for rest, who knows whether you’ll sway in hammocks or hide away in the A-frame. On September 17, village goers were able to add one more thing to their spa itinerary: yoga.
Yoga Flow on a Sunny Patio
Although it was mid-September already, you would’ve never been able to tell on the morning of the seventeenth. The sun was shining, and the thermometer was at a startling 27 degrees. Our first class of the day was treated to a natural hot yoga class as the deck it took place on was bathed in bright sunlight.
On five different occasions during the day, Stephanie and Nicole from PYC Oshawa led guests through 45-minute Vinyasa flow classes. Whether the mats were filled with expert yogis or curious first timers, the lesson flowed effortlessly for all.
Yoga and the spa are, unsurprisingly, a good match. The classes complimented the spa experience to perfection. It fits perfectly in the thermal cycle. From hot, to cold, to rest with an extra dash of yoga. As the day went on, the patio on which the lessons were held went from full sun to full shade and ended with a phenomenal full moon, thus completing a different kind of cycle.
